Summer is here!

Summer is here!

The long awaited sunshine is beaming down on our beautiful town of Ross on Wye today. Ross always looks beautiful but today especially with its bustling High Street full of visitors and tourists from far afield

When the sun is shining, our thoughts often turn to two things: BBQs and redecorating! Transform your home interior this summer with these top 4 tips….

We have so much colour to look forward to this summer

1. Ice Cream colours are a huge trend in home interiors and clothing fashion this year. Choose your favourite ice cream shade of paint, get it mixed down at the mixing desk in many high street and DIY stores and you have a cheerful and sunny interior to match your mood and remind you of those happy days spent in the summer

Carpets are reflecting this too with pale pink pastels, apricots, lilac and lemon being seen in many a trend-setters lounge.

2. Geometrics were a big 2017 trend in accessories such as cushions and throws but are now being seen on larger pieces of furniture, blinds/curtains and carpets/vinyls

Here at Ross on Wye Flooring currently one of our best sellers for kitchens and bathrooms right now is the Baroque Cushion Faro Vinyl currently priced @ £16.99 per m2 available from us (pictured above)

3. Indigo Blues

If pastels are not your thing another massive summer trend reported by Marks and Spencer and House Beautiful are inky indigo blues, the type you would see on delphinium or iris flowers. You can be brave and go for a whole room blue shade on all walls or take a feature wall/chimney breast or alcove and contrast it with a bright white/ivory carpet, such as Touched by Softness Snow White by Condor @ £41.99 per m2 (available from us) for a high impact, fresh look

4. Metallics/glitter/gold

Gold is this years favourite metallic. Vases, lamps and picture frames can all be seen everywhere featuring this classic design. So with such sumptuous opulence, which floor do you go for?… Well an understated Karndean wood-look one of course. The warm mahogany/oak and beachy rustic tones of the range of Karndean floors eg. RKP8115 English Character Oak, are the perfect antidote to the strong metallic statement and work so beautifully together
