Top tips for choosing the right Carpet
With so many different colors, materials and designs available, it can be difficult to choose the best carpet for your home. Some materials may require frequent cleanings that simply won’t fit into your busy schedule, others come with a high price tag and some may even have an effect on your health. The wrong carpet may wear out quickly, fade or show stains that stubbornly resist your best cleaning efforts.
Carpets come in many form and its really important to make sure you get the correct type to suit your needs.
Before we start Underlay…
Don’t be tempted to skimp on the underlay to save a few pounds. Just as a building needs a solid foundation, carpeting relies on a layer of padding for support, strength and a bit of extra cushioning. You can’t see the underlay, but you’ll definitely spot the extra wear and tear on your new carpet if you pick an inadequate underlay material.
Its the pile of your carpet, the way its made and the fibers used that determine the way it feels under your feet and how it looks and performs. a shorter pile is better for heavy traffic areas as it maintains its appearance for longer but if its luxury your after then go for a longer pile.
Remember to install durable carpet in rooms that see a lot of activity and have high-traffic areas, especially family rooms, hallways and game rooms. If you have children or pets, look for stain resistant carpet.
